Hi. I am Haziq Izmi, a young adult who also happens to be autistic. I am unable to enjoy the simple pleasures of social interaction. My kind of communication is restricted to abrupt one-line sentences in a monotonous tone. I can however answer very simple questions (meaning, never ask for my opinion but I can tell you what the weather is like) and can read and write in two languages with some comprehension. In rare moments I have displayed emotional maturity and uttered nuggets of wisdom. So how do I begin to blog you ask?. Sadly it’s only possible if someone gets into my head and become the medium between me and the real world.

In this blog my mother and I are as one. She who understands me like no other. She who feels my daily pains and joys.

    • Hi Teresa. This is Haziq’s mum Shimah. I didn’t realize how much effort it takes to blog (and the reminder of the pain of those black days) but comments such as yours makes it all worthwhile. Thank you. It helps having a loving family and a very supportive elder sister.

  3. Salam. My name is Zamri, a father to 11 yr old autistic boy. Like to learn from your experience.
